ABOUT MARTHA
Hi there,
I’m Martha Trahan — Certified Nutritionist, Menopause & Fitness Coach, wife, and busy mom of two. This year I’m turning 48, and like many of the women I work with, I’m navigating midlife, menopause and all the changes that come with it.
Since launching SheNutrition.ca, I’ve been helping women 40+ lose weight, build muscle, and feel their absolute best — all while enjoying delicious, nourishing meals with their families.
I’m not a fan of fad diets, gimmicky supplements, or “quick fixes.” Instead, I believe in realistic, sustainable habits that women can stick with long term — approaches that truly fit into real life and bring lasting results.
Today, I run the Midlife Warriors Club, a virtual community where women 40+ can get stronger, improve body composition, and feel supported every step of the way. I also work with clients one-on-one, either virtually or in person at Restore Integrative Health in Leslieville, Toronto.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me with friends and family, cooking up something delicious, dancing, or traveling whenever I get the chance.
MARTHA’S EDUCATION AND EXPERTISE
Certified Nutritional Practitioner
Graduated as CNP with First Class Honours at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. Holistic Nutritionists work with clients as unique individuals, looking at the person as a whole. We help guide people toward optimum health so they get sick less and with less serious afflictions. We educate individuals about the use of supplements and lifestyle changes, encouraging them to eat healthily, exercise and generally take better care of their bodies. Fundamentally, there is the understanding that one size does not fit all in any area of health since everyone is an individual with a unique set of circumstances.
Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist - GGS
This certification provides a deep understanding of the physical and psychological changes of menopause. It covers anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and exercise programming so I can safely and effectively support women during and after menopause.
Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach
This program goes beyond nutrition science into the psychology of change. It equips me with the tools to help clients improve eating habits and make lasting lifestyle shifts — because nutrition coaching is rarely just about food.
Personal Trainer Specialist, Canfitpro
Qualified to assess, design, and deliver safe and effective individual or small group training programs at home, in the gym, or online. My focus is always on functional strength and movement that supports real life.
BoneFit Level 1 Coach
Specialized training in supporting clients with osteopenia and osteoporosis. This certification emphasizes understanding fracture risk, recognizing beneficial versus contraindicated exercises, and adapting movements (like getting up from the floor) to build both safety and confidence.
Nutrition and Fitness during Menopause with Dr. Stacy Sims (Female physiology and nutrition expert)
A deep dive into the unique physiology of women in perimenopause, menopause, and beyond, with strategies to optimize nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being during these transitions.
